Tax season is here OH joy.
I do not think there is anything more mind wrenching then trying to figure out stuff for your taxes.
Well with us I keep everything every receipt every invoice and every everything. So cleaning out the files for the new year is a job . Then filing it all in the right place . I have almost every bill and receipt in files for the last 8 years. That is allot of paper. Been thinking about a portable scanner and saving stuff on disks. Have to do more research about that .

Rumor is growing bigger everyday, puppies will be here in about a week and a half.. The sun is trying to shine and it is a ok temp of 28.

It is said: there is a reason why people come into your life. For the last 7 months I wonder why this one certain person every came into my life, because she has tried to make it nothing but hell. I ain't playing the game any more.

First it was the car thing. What is quite amazing, in that time, this person spent time in my home. acting like my friend. Then again in October the car thing again
We went to a lawyer to try and settle all of this......OK we can wait the damage is already done.
Now it 2012 it has started again and we are just waiting to see what will fall next.

I have learn many things in the past few weeks, about thing from years back that are complete lies, it is amazing what you learn after the fact.
I was told that a well known breeder, had never sold a dog on a contract and that this breeder never would take a dog back. Today I learned the complete opposite.

I was told a few years back that a someone would not take a dog back and it ended up in a SD program, I now wonder i really wonder .
As I watched things, I wondered about allot of stuff.
Thing were heard from one remark or another, but I did not quite believe some of that stuff..
I have witnessed as thing came and then left..
Now several years later is it happening again, and things will be leaving again .

All this said, I am still wondering what the purpose was for this person coming into my life. If there was a reason, I have not quite figure out yet.

What does a person do when someone breaks a contract on a dog they sold ?

I can think of all kinds of quotes written by some famous people and others by some not so famous people, about how I feel right now, but that is not going to fix any of the problems. I can think of what I would like to do but that wouldn't be legal.

Something I forgot, my contract says that all legal matter will be held in the my county i live in, in MN.

I see a court date in my very near future.....................................................

Life can be interesting.
Just have to see where the next ?????? will fall.

The Big Red Horse

picture is the day we brought him home

The big red horse that lives at my house has been going down hill for the last month. Bought with the thought that he was 19 years old but in all truth vet thought closer to 29 or 30. He came here in December 6 years ago as a pasture mate for Tweeter. We almost lost him the second year we had him. I fought everyday to get him to eat and fill him up . Peppermint candies (which he loves ) Beet pulp soaked in warm water with vitamin and minerals. Special feed mixed at the local feed mill . Sunflower seed for roughage. Special hay .It was a long hard battle but he made it that winter. He is a sweet old boy with training . In his younger days he had to be a great perforamce horse. He is branded but I have never been able to find the brand in any western state. He is a bright red dun about 16 hands tall and as sweet a sugar candy.

The vet says he is just worn out inside and his colon is not working properly any more. He is not absorbing anything and it is a downhill battle.
He has had many good day in the last month but thing are going downhill fast in the last few days. Tomorrow the vet will come to the house and Buddy will be put down to go to horsey heaven. It has been hell the last 2 months first Petunia and now Buddy. Say a pray for the old boy. It's hard to loose the animals you love.

Dear SAOVA Friends,

It has been some time since we discussed federal dog breeder legislation. As 2011 ended, HSUS had gathered a substantial number of cosponsors for HR835 / S707 Puppy Uniform Protection and Safety Act (PUPS) reaching 192 in the House and 31 in the Senate. The escalating number of cosponsors prompted new dialogue among sportsmen and dog breeders regarding the bill’s potential impact and re-energized posting of online opposition.

Previous versions of PUPS would have required the federal government to set standards for when to breed and how frequently to breed dogs, and relied on some numerical threshold for adding retailers under USDA regulation. PUPS is the current example of overbearing regulation that attacks dog breeders and rescuers.

PUPS creates a new category, High Volume Retail Breeder, defined as someone who has ownership in or custody of an intact female dog 4 months of age or older and sells 50 offspring in a year.

Diana Culp, former HSUS employee, wrote in the Examiner, “These bills will have an effect on people who care for purebred dogs.” Culp explains, "50 puppies" appears to affect only large volume breeders. However, good breeders and rescues (and shelters) maintain ownership interests in all dogs they place through sales and adoption contracts. And while a good breeder would never place 50 puppies in one year, a shelter certainly does. A rescue may have 50 puppies in foster homes and if they are not spayed by the time they are 4 months old (which is a controversial procedure) the rescue is subject to USDA inspection. Some dog owners and breeders continue to struggle with this definition of “50 sales” thinking that according to this definition the proposed legislation can never affect them. It is important not to become sidetracked with the numbers game. The intent of PUPS as with all previous versions is to change the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) and USDA/APHIS responsibility forever by granting authority for federal regulation to extend beyond commercial dog breeders. The policy to separate commercial and retail breeders has been challenged and defended in court. At that time, USDA attorneys defended this policy on several grounds, one of which was potential invasions of privacy that would result if federal inspectors began enforcing "cleaning, sanitation, handling, and other regulatory requirements in private homes." That concern is just as relevant now as it was in 2002.

Maine Hunting & Sporting Dog Owners writes, “It’s no secret HSUS goals include the elimination of ALL sport hunting. Under PUPS new regulations, responsible breeding of hunting and sporting dogs for ethical hunters would be significantly reduced or eliminated all together.”

The United States Working Dog Foundation provides a succinct description of the bill, “PUPS epitomizes the grave danger imposed upon a society when animal rights activists and legislators attempt to regulate a highly complex specialty which they do not understand.”

ACTION ALERT: NEW HAMPSHIRE SB 370 BREEDING AND CARE REQUIREMENTS

PUBLIC HEARING is scheduled Thursday, January 19^th at 10:45am; Senate Executive Departments and Administration Committee; Room 100, STATE HOUSE, Concord, NH

All dog breeders and owners are encouraged to attend the meeting Thursday to respectfully testify in opposition to SB 370 as it is currently written.

SB 370 creates new sections in the statutes that seek to restrict dog ownership and breeding, and specify standards of care and treatment regardless of breed, health, or age of the dog.

SB 370 mandates a specific medical treatment by requiring that a veterinarian administer general anesthesia when performing a surgical birth, debarking operation, or tail docking. Docking 6 day old puppies’ tails cannot be done under general anesthesia.

SB 370 imposes the requirement of costly immediate veterinary care for any illness or injury involving one of the 10 or more females owned for breeding purposes. The bill fails to recognize that responsible breeders have first aid skills and basic medical information to deal with common illnesses and injuries. This requirement will only serve to harass a responsible dog owner who is able to administer first aid for minor illnesses and injuries.

SB 370 restricts breeding and other procedures without consideration for the dog. The bill imposes arbitrary limits on the frequency of breeding females.

SB 370 allows the agent of a humane society or SPCA to investigate a complaint (no training required).

New Hampshire’s current laws and regulations provide sufficient protection for dogs, making this legislation unnecessary.

ANIMAL ACTIVISTS

BLUM V HOLDER. Activists represented by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) filed suit in federal court in U.S. District Court in the District of Massachusetts., challenging the constitutionality of the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA). According to the CCR website Blum v. Holder is a federal lawsuit challenging AETA as an unconstitutional infringement on free speech. The plaintiffs are five longtime animal rights activists whose advocacy work has been chilled due to fear of being prosecuted as a terrorist under the AETA.

COURT TURNS OVER UFL RECORDS TO ANIMAL RIGHTS MILITANT

An Alachua County Circuit Court judge has ordered the University of Florida to provide an animal rights activist with records on primates involved in research. Camille Marino of Wildwood, who founded the group Negotiation is Over, received the records last week. She said she plans to use them to continue a campaign against animal research at UFL, which recently included the online posting of the layout of UFL laboratories and the university spokeswoman’s cell phone number. The University spokeswoman received more than a dozen calls, including a death threat that UFL police are investigating.

The Florida Board of Governors is asking state lawmakers, as part of its legislative budget request, to create a public records exemption for the addresses of university faculty and staff who conduct research involving animals. Last night I ask the hubby what he wanted for supper. His reply was steak, mash potatos and corn. I made chilli. Tonight I ask him what he wanted and his reply was 'same as last night but pancakes and eggs would be fine'. I made steak, mash potatos and corn from the garden. Have to keep the man on his toes .

Rumor has 26 day til her delivery due date 2/6. She is showing already, I would guess we are going to have a few Cardi puppies. Her personality has changed. She is now more cuddley and lovin,g pet me pet me all the time girl. She was a pretty independent girl before but liked attention, now she just wants more, all of the time now.

Holiday was spent here at home with
Tracey, Ryan Jake, Brant and Kamryn. Phil, Hannah, Maddie and Sophie. Pat and mother in law Iris.

I cooked (long story- short, I was not cooking anymore once the kids were adults) The food was good: Ham and turkey with Mash potatoes and Cheesy Potatoes, Green bean cassarole ,corn, fresh baked muffin(a bit over done) Several pies and strawberry pertzel bars.

Kids all got rides on the horse in the afternoon. Tweeter was in heaven she just loves kids. Buddy (still hangin in there ) got lots of rubs .

Kids were all happy with their presents .

All the Cardis were in heaven they got to see their grandkids .
Casey, the new puppy, got lots of socialation.

Was a good day. Had not seen Phil and the girls for several months .

The waether was a bit warm for December 24th at 39 degrees with no snow.

Hard to believe it will be 2012 at the end of the week.

Made a 3 1/2 hours drive to MPLS today. Went to the airport to pick up the new puppy. Oh course, we were early and the plane was late . So after waiting for an hour to start the paper work we finally got our new bundle of joy. Drove to the south end of the twin cities and finally stopped to let her and Corky go potty. She was quiet the whole drive home . Let her explore the front yard with Corky. She walk right into the house and made her self right at home, then had supper and met the other dogs individually. Ebbie is in heaven and watches her like a hawk, she has taken her exploring inside and outside. Ebbie is now laying by the puppies crate. OHH for good mother dogs. All is quiet now and we are ready for bed .

Now I just have to think of a call name for the new little girl.

This is a long true story. This what a best friend can do to you.

It starts with me sitting in a car dealership, waiting for word about financing on the used 2010 Toyota we were buying in July 2011. It was taking a very long time, several hours in fact. Finally, I was told that there was only one place that would give us a loan on the car at 15% interest.

WHAT!!!! .
Both I and Donald have excellent credit reports and ratings. What is going on? Well there I sit, when the financial manger tell me I have not made 4 car payments on a loan.

WHAT!!!
I explain to him that is impossible because all of our bills our paid well before any due dates. I am told Donald has a credit rating of 608.

WHAT!!!!!
That’s impossible, it was 788, 4 months ago.

I have him pull the credit report to find out what in the hell is going on. Sitting in his office, I am reading to the part that say 4 month of unpaid car payment. The steam of anger is building up. As I drive home it is still building up,I 'm talk to Donald over the cell phone telling him what has happened.

This very best friend of our, has not paid for 4 months of her car payment, that Donald was a cosigner on. Please note it said BEST friend.

Now you need to know the rest of the story- before all this.

To start with, in 5 plus years, we have given the woman money any time she asked. When her vacuum cleaner broke down, I gave her my $400 yellow Dyson and I bought a new one(note I did not need a new Dyson the one I had worked fine). When she talked about a sewing machine, and how she could not afford one, I gave her the Brother sewing machine I had. I got a different one. Her computer crashed, so I gave her a new computer, I had bought as an extra for that “just in case” .

When she lost everything in the floods in IA, we gave her a place to live for several weeks . After she went back to IA to pick up the pieces, I took care of 2 of her dogs for several months.

When the transmission went out of her van, in the middle of no where IA, we hooked up the car trailer and drove 2 hours(one way) to rescue her and her Collies. Helped her get another vehicle ( A red ford van vehicle no 1) when the transmission started to go out in this van, we ran again 4 hours to help and then to get her the Chevy Trailblazer(vehicle 2)

In April 2011, this best friends and a couple, had decided they were going to the Collie Nationals. A couple day before they were ready to leave, I get a phone call asking for $600 or more money, with the statement that the best friend had made a mistake and paid for a whole year of car insurance and now didn’t have enough money to go to the Collie Nationals in Oklahoma. Everything was planned and ready to go, I had to borrow her the money PLEASE PLEASE .

I ended giving her 445 dollars, money I had put away for my dog shows and dog activities for the summer. The promise was, I would get the money back by the end of MAY 2011. I borrow this best friend this money without telling my husband.(which never has happened in our household everything is always discussed)

I myself was not going to the 2011Cardigan National in TX , because I figured I could not afford it. YES I Really wanted to go. I had 2 young, very promising cardigans that could have done well. (in fact one of those young cardigan(pick of the litter) was returned from this same friend unsocialized and afraid of her own shadow.)

Donald had just retired in 2010 and for the first time in our married lives, we had a big tax bill coming April 15th, thousands of dollars for income taxes. So I stayed home. She went to the Collie National.

I received a phone call from the Collie National asking for more money, because she was running out. I said NO

Well May came and went, then June and then July, Aug. and Sept., guess what no money returned. I never said a thing, but in all this time she was going to herding lesson every Monday, dog shows and performance events . She also bought a new dog, A border collie from the herding instructor, I was told for 200 dollars, which I later found out was a lie and was $400 dollars. I also learned that the insurance payment made for a year was a lie and was never made.

She had even came to the house to watch the dogs, horses, and chicken for 2 days, so I could go with Donald to ND to get an antique car he had bought 7 months before..

Now
Fast forward to July, and the day after the car crap, I email this best friend to ask WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON?

I get told, that it’s none of my business, if I want to be her friend I have to TAKE THE GOOD AND BAD, Then I am told "Everything is my fault'' that this has happened. I was the one who made her accept the cars and the money.

Donald makes a deal with the banker, if the MAY 2011payment is paid by the end of July, They will take the 2 other late payments ands put them to the back the loan. August payment is paid on the last Friday of the month, Sept payment is paid the last day of the month No Oct payment at all. The payments are due the 10th of each month.

But the friend…. she is still going to dog show and performance stuff.

On November 4, 2011 a letter, from our lawyer, is sent to this person giving her 10 days to surrender the 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, to the bank or it will be repossessed.

11/10/11 DAM it my amazement a payment is made on time.

Donald’s credit is shot, his credit score is below 600. It gets worse every time she make a late or no payment.

This has almost killed my husband, because he has worked all his life to have good credit…………………..

Got the CERF certificates for Rue and Hoover today.
They are now requiring permanent ID for a CERF number. It is not required at this time to get a number but i bet it will be in the near future .

So in the near future both the kids will have a CHIC number.

It was 60 degrees here today, which is very strange for November. Wind lots of wind 35 40 mph all day. Got some of the outside work done before the snow hits us . Watered all the new trees shrub and roses for the last time. Took down some of the elelctic fence and made the pastures smaller for he winter. Tweeter is not happy .

Kennebec Qwaynts Miss Daniele -Dani, was spay today. She was 6 years old in July. She is a super dog and one of the easiest I have to live with. She produced 2 litter and had some very nice puppies. Thought about another litter with her but a month after her birthday, she did a shed that was extreme, not what a 6 yr old should be doing. She had bare spots on her chest, back and stomach. Off to the Vet we went and did all kinds of bloodwork. She has thyoid problems at 6. Her thyroid had been tested at 1, 2 and 4 yrs of age and was normal. So she is now on medication every day and doing well. One thing that was strange when her coat came back in it was very curly.

This is a first for me, I have never had a Cardigan with Thyroid problems before. So in 16 years in Cardis and 26 years in dogs, I can now say it has happened. (oh joy)

So the problem is: one vet tell me it is NOT genetic and another vet says it is genetic. Who do you beleive? Because I have a son and daughter of Dani.

Dani is resting well, still a bit wobbly but in a few days she will be feeling much better.

Weather is still very dry here, no rain since August.
Wonder if this mean less snow for this winter ......................that would be nice .....

Spent the morning at dog show in SD . Hoover and Rue were both reserve. This judge told me that my cardigan did not have enough prosternum.
What Ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then it was off to the CERF eye vet for eye checks for the 2 . Both are normal. Packed up the car and headed home. I left the CERF paper work on the seat of the car. Well on the way home I was getting a bit sleepy so I opened up all the windows to let the cool morning air in and guess what ? It took the CERF paper and sucked it right out the window as I driving 74 MPH down I 90. Yepper could have not happen to anyone but me . I got home and called a friend still at the dog show and ask her to go talk to the Eye vet to see if he would give me another copy. Ohh he is a very understanding person and they very nicely gave me a new CERf form for Rue ,.......................... When CERF paper are sent in and register both Hoover and Rue will be CHIC 'd,that will make 4 and 5 for Qwaynt Catrdigans and they are CHIC'd with all passing certification. Flip will be the next cardi to get his testing.

I live in the middle of no where. nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile to the west and 1 mile to the east. We are surrounded by a 640 acres of crop lands. To the north there is 640 acres crop land, so basically in the middle of farm land country.

Last night I was up late 1-2 am-ish. Hubby is in bed sleeping, dogs are most all in the office with me snoozing. All the lights in the house are off except for the office where the computer is at. Hoover was wondering around the house being a normal 1 yr old puppy, he loves squeeke toys. Well he started huffing and growling and just making alot of noise. I told him several time to be quiet, which didn't help. so I decided it was time for bed. As I walked into the kitchen and turned on the light, I was doing something and noticed movement outside the kicthen window, there standing outside my kitchen window on our deck was a man looking inside right at me .

To say the least, I about screamed, scared the %$$%^ right out of me . In that few seconds the guy takes off and is gone. Hoover is still growling.
I just turned the light off and woke the hubby up and then called the county sheriff office.

What is so remarkable about all this is, the guy had to come through 2 gates to get to my deck. and had to do the same to leave. Sheriff comes and did not find anything.

Last time this happened, we had a dog stolen.

It's just time to load the gun again. They don't like it when you shoot over their heads when they are prowling around the property at 1-2 3 am in the morning. My deer hunting rifle makes alot of noise at that time of the morning too.

Last time this happened was 7 or so year ago, more then 100 dog were stolen from a 5o miles radius area.
Maybe we should put up that 8 ft fence with 220 electric running in the top wire. It has been discussed several times.

Life can be interesting here in no where Minnesota.

Well today was the day for the cars...........Toyota have a maintenance required light on all the newer vehicles. So the Tundra had to have tired rotated at 5000 miles. The Venza had a scensor go out in the all wheel dive stuff. So both went to the dealer today.
You know that sit and wait stuff, you have to do when you are getting a car worked on .
The Tundra was done first, so I took it and went to Walmart to get a hair cut. Found some really cool material for $1 a yard too.
As I was back out of the parking space (Note here) Looked out both sides and using the back up camera, I backed out slowly, then it was crunch crunch crunch. Slam on the breaks put it into park and jump out. There is a nice older lady in her 2003 Mercury, Backing out too ands right into me. But the Crunch crunch crunch is not the Tundra but that 2003 mercury's back quarter panel on the passenger side as she back into my bumper. Oh a nice huge dent in that mercury and not a scratch on the pickup(TYG) I did not see her and she did not see me . So got the police and police report, now just have to wait to see what the insurance says.

It is Harvest time around here. The farmers and their huge combines,with huge bean heads drive right down the middle of the road from edge to edge. So where are the people suppose to go coming from the other way- hit the ditch? This as*hol* farmer just cept coming as I dive into a drive way to get out of his fricken way. The window is quickly rolled down and he is very politely given a flying bird.

Biggest thing around here is some of the as*hol* farmers, think they own the roads durning harvest time, (most are very nice and move over or off the road) but there is always several as**-*........ but I got news for them, I pay taxes too.

I was so pisted I called the county sheriff, the guy got a ticket and a very big fine. I know I made his day.............................

Other then that I guess it was a good day.

An interesting article on the Michigan Farm Bureau was posted recently reminding us that we should all be concerned regarding the amount of animal rightist misinformation being circulated in our schools. Congrats to the Michigan Farm Bureau for addressing this in their school districts.

Michigan Farm News reports the state Farm Bureau will provide science curriculum for seventh-grade classrooms in 38 Michigan school districts to counter a book used in classrooms teaching false opinions about agriculture. “A hot planet needs cool kids” is a book used as a companion to the science curriculum with sources including Defenders of Wildlife, The Humane Society of the United States, and Wikipedia. Michigan Farm Bureau says those sources are bias and present false information as fact, misleading children as they shape views of agriculture. The book includes a section encouraging children to eat less meat and says many livestock are kept in unnatural environments. The book adds eating less or no meat will reduce energy consumption, methane gas and the potential for disease outbreak. Deb Schmucker, manager of Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education department, will prepare a packet of information for teachers to use educating students about sustainable, positive farm practices.

"The problem is, when these false statements are repeated over and over, they become engrained and are considered truth," Schmucker said. "If the teachers believe falsehood, and when school book writers use as resources other books and websites that contain falsehoods, where are the kids going to get the truth? If farmers need to write a textbook, we'll do it. But that's not the hard part. The hard part is getting it into the classroom.” Schmucker is working to have the book taken out of circulation. BROOMFIELD COLORADO JOINS STUDY ON COYOTES
Three children have been bitten by coyotes this summer in the Anthem area.

BROOMFIELD -- In light of a trio of coyote attacks on children in north Broomfield this summer, city officials are taking action to address and better understand aggressive coyote behavior in the city.

Broomfield Open Space and Trails Director Kristan Pritz said Broomfield has been accepted as partner in a recently launched study of urban coyote behavior in the Denver-metro area.

Researchers from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Colorado State University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are conducting the study with help from about 20 government entities in the metro area, including Broomfield. Researchers began the study's observational phase in Aurora this month. They will observe the behavior of coyotes living in urban and suburban areas, as well as the behavior and attitudes of people toward the animals. The research has just begun, but Pritz said she is happy Broomfield will be participating in the project. The city signed on as an observational partner last year, but this year might actually see research take place in some of its neighborhoods, including possible installation of wildlife cameras and tagging and tracking of coyotes.

Broomfield's Anthem Ranch subdivision has been ground zero for aggressive coyote behavior in Colorado this year, with three reported cases of a coyote biting a small child in the neighborhood since July 18. The most recent attack occurred Monday, when a 3-year-old girl was bitten by a coyote that came into her back yard from an abutting open space area as her parents tried to scare the animal away from their back patio. The Humane Society of the United States has theoretically been a long-standing organization symbolic of animal rights, protection, and welfare – a feasible presumption. A donation sent to the Humane Society is sent to provide food for malnourished horses in Texas or to provide shelter for homeless dogs and cats in New York City – right?
An investigation into the Humane Society’s financial history is a quantitative way of determining the organization’s true intentions. In 2008, the Humane Society's net assets reached $162,217,144. Its revenue alone was $85,837,220– the equivalent of almost 4.3 million $20 donations. Humane Society's 2008 grant schedule shows that $452,371, a mere 0.45% of their budget that year, was donated to directly affect animals in need, i.e. animal shelters and HSUS state branches. Connecticut received only $10,000: a donation sent to a spay clinic in Stratford. Not one of Connecticut’s three Humane Society branches – Westport, Waterford, or Newington – was given a dime from their national counterpart. NEW STUDENT CHAPTER TO PROMOTE ANIMAL LAW

Law students have partnered with the Animal Legal Defense Fund to create The University of Western Ontario’s first Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF). The students will host speakers, debates and conferences; write law review articles for journals dedicated to animal law; and volunteer to do legal research and writing for local law firms and advocates for the addition of animal law courses to curriculum.

The first SALDF chapter was established in 1992 at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon and there are currently more than 170 chapters at law schools throughout the United States and Canada. In 1999 six schools taught animal law, including Harvard. Today there are 135 law schools in the U.S. and Canada that have offered a course in animal law.

Before the ink was dry on reports of the HSUS/UEP egg regulation announcement Stephen Wells, ALDF Executive Director, commented that the agreement did not go far enough because it lacked “teeth” for enforcement. According to Wells, the ideal way to solve this problem would be the inclusion of a citizen suit provision that would permit enforcement of the law by concerned citizens.

Most recently, ALDF filed a citizen’s petition with USDA urging the Department to require that foie gras product packaging carry a warning label or disclaimer that foie gras livers are derived from diseased birds.

HSUS AND WHAT’S ‘GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY’

Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” If we accept this notion, then it’s time for some in the animal rights movement to find a good shrink. Why do urban, vegan, pleather-wearing folks believe that continually insulting agriculture, by condescending to and patronizing this country’s food producers, that one day we’ll shout “hallelujah” as the scales fall from our collective eyes and we’ll beg their forgiveness for our sins?

The evidence this week is word out of Nebraska from state agricultural producer groups that a new organization has been formed – “We Support Agriculture” – announced at press conferences in Omaha, Lincoln and at Corn Husker Days in Grand Island.

Nebraska Farm Bureau, Nebraska Cattlemen, Nebraska Pork, Nebraska Poultry and Nebraska Dairy each ponied up $5,000 to fund a coalition of folks ready to do battle with, among others, “extreme animal rights organizations,” those who seek to outlaw on-farm production practices. Also created is the “Alliance for the Future of Agriculture in Nebraska,” a charitable public education foundation.

Enter Wayne Pacelle, president of the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS), quoted in the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star calling the effort a “charade” and paranoia run amok,” accusing Nebraska agriculture of refusing to address his personal definition of animal welfare “problems.” Ever since Gov. Dave Heineman told HSUS to go pound salt if it thought it could coerce the $15-billion state ag industry to negotiate with HSUS its future – Heineman’s widely quoted statement: “In Nebraska, no deal, no compromise” – Pacelle’s nose has been out of joint with our Corn Husker friends. As of today, I would have really like to be able to afford a hitman for someone I do not even know.
Long story short, friends bought their first home, Thursday they went to change the locks and when they got there there was squatter living in it, a family with 5 kids, dogs cats and so on. Well after some talking they gave the people 36 hours to get out. They went back today and these squatter complete trashed the house. They remove every electrical switch, plug and fixture in the whole house. They remover every breaker in the electrical panel, and completely pulled out all the wiring. Besides that, there is now holes in the walls in several places. Why are some people such As*H*les.(that is putting it nicely)

Made a trip to Sioux falls SD today to a new vet . Had Hoover and Rumor both x-rays for PennHip. Rumor were also sent into OFA along with her elbow x-rays. Xrays were clear and looked good. Digital which is great because I got 2 disc with copies of all the x-rays . Took about 4 hours and that gave me time to do a little shopping. I was very impressed with the new vet.

Well I the little hens have been laying eggs now for a couple weeksnow. I have 4 hens and we get 5 eggs a day.
So one of them is laying 2 eggs a day SO what do we have many of = EGGS Lots and lots of eggs. Thought the kids would like eggs but it seems maybe they don't

Saturday Hoover was a complete monster in the ring and got nothing. Came home and walk for more then an hour teaching him to keep his nose off the ground and stand.
Today he was WD and BOW for 1 point. that makes 5 with one major , only 10 to go.
had a great time . Slick was RWD both days .

Have picked a few red tomatoes, more peppers and I am pulling the green beans tomorrow. Had enough of them. Sweet corn was delicious.

I have been busy with the fresh produce from the garden

Green beans 49 quarts in the freezer and they are still blooming ready to pull them out
Sweet Corn 28 quarts in the freezer.The early corn is done, just waiting for the later corn to mature. Plus several meals of fresh corn on the cob.

Peppers 10 quarts in the freezer all cut up and ready for the tomato sauces and salsa, I will make if the tomatoes ever ripen. Have picked 8 tomatoes that were pinkish. Seems everyone in the area is having the same problem, no red tomatoes.

I picked more peppers tonight 18 large green peppers, 21 yellow banana peppers and 10 jalapeno peppers. Jalapeno peppers are suppose to be 3-4 inches long, I picked 4 tonight that are over 8 inches long. That does not include all of the pepers I have given away either. Anyone need any?

We have been enjoying the cooler weather the last few days, the lower humidity is so much better.
Hoover is going to go play show dog again, see how that go, just one point
Sept. will be a busy month for the family.
Slick, Rue and Flip will all be getting their hips xrays done both Pennhip and OFA. Hoover just Pennhip and maybe a prelim for OFA.
Does not seem possible that the trio of monsters are going to be 2.

Another unbearable day or heat and high humidity. Dogs do not want to even go outside. Horses are soaking wet from sweat. We had a very cold and wet spring, now this heat is outrageous. Have had heat stroke several times in my life, I do not do much outside when it is this hot . Started to make a crate cover for a friend, Hope she likes the colors . Traveled to Rochester MN, to deliver some chickens and fresh veggies from the garden to a friend. I have green beans, peppers and sweet corn everywhere. Tomaotes are huge, but will not turn red. Seems everyone in our area is having the same problem theirs too.
The old dog -Petunia can not see much anymore and late this afternoon she took a flying leap off the deck(2steps) and landed on the concrete sidewalk. She is in allot of pain and limping badly, gave her a baby aspirin and put her in a crate . Tomorrow we will take a quick trip to the vet to make sure she is ok. Hubby was not real happy tonight, when both Rue and Flip thought it was necessary to get the bedroom door open(11pm) and got on the bed to greet him as he was sleeping soundly. I'll hear about it tomorrow for sure .
I am having another of the times where sleep in almost impossible. Note it is 1am

Have had the kid's dogs all week. Abbey who is Dani's daughter and Utah a terrier something mix. It was interesting because Utah thought he was going to be dominant over the girls. Not happening in my house. The second morning Corky had it and chased him into the kitchen when she told him the facts of life about living in the Runge household with cardigan girls. He has been a gentleman all week.

The old gelding, some how got into something and has hole, about the size of a quarter, in his upper right leg and has been in a stall for 5 days. He is very bored. So been treating him all week. The heat and humidity have been so terrible all week, with no air movement at all.

Sweet corn is ready. I have been picking some everyday and putting into the freezer.
We had fresh sweet corn for supper tonight. Yumm. I can't believe how the peppers have been producing. The Sweet Banana Peppers are so good. first time I have ever raised them. but each plant has 15-20 peppers at a time. I am running out of ways to fix peppers. They are still blooming.
Wish the dang tomatoes would ripen, so I can make juice, stewed tomatoes, salsa. chilly sauce and spaghetti sauce. Lots and lots of green tomatoes just no red ones yet. This afternoon I cut all the growing point off the palnts so that should help them ripen.

Next week Flip will be visiting the vet. Slick, Rumor and Hoover will be visiting a vet in Sioux Falls SD for PennHip and OFA xrays for their hips and elbows . Was quite excited that there is a new vet, close enough to home, that will do Pennhip. Hoover be prelimed OFA. So August will be busy. Before long the grandkids will be back in school.
Tomorrow will be a very interesting day. Have to see what the outcome is ...........

Some people and their children. Sure makes you wonder why they are the way they are??????????????????????

Example
guy who complains because he came to my house instead of the vets. (the vet is a mile straight east of us ) His children for opening the gate and letting the dogs out. Who then bark at the idiot's horses, Who then broke the lead rope, who ran through my garden. Then the idiot guy got me mad and I told him several &&*^%$^^&%% words to get his dam horses back in his %$&%%^ trailer and get the hell off my property. On top of that we have sign at the end of our driveway that say "WE ARE NOT THE VET! VET STRAIGHT AHEAD 1 MILE" Then the dumb S**^ took out my fence trying to back out the driveway. Then i followed him to the vet, demanding he fix the fence he took out. I had it......... I called the sheriff. The fence did get fixed, but he was not happy. Maybe the idiot will learn to read a sign next time............................

The weather has been unbearably hot and humid. Today it finally broke, got the lawn mowed, garden picked. Beets, green beans, cukes, and peppers. The sweet banana peppers they grow like mad.   The tomatoes are over 5 feet tall with all the moisture we have had. Today they got plucked of their suckers and lower leaves. There are lots of fruit but they were not getting any sun light. I almost have a tomato forest they have grown so much. Dogs have been enjoying the air conditioning most the week. (Me too) Set at very comfortable 77. Electric bill will be outrageous for sure.

Life has taken a hard blow and have not quite figured out what to do about it at this point in time. The decision we make, can change the future forever more . Sure makes you wonder what is the whole plan ??????? Time will tell .
But then again, it is just one foot in front of the other and keep on dredging  through the crap of life.

Got a possible couple of show in August, then several after the weather cools off .

Petunia enjoyed her special birthday meal of scrambled eggs and beef patty last Friday for her 16th birthday. The other dogs all wondered why they did not get the special stuff. Petunia, totally deaf and mostly blind, she relies upon Ebbie as her guide dog.

But then today they all got to have a special treat, know what happens when you forget you were boiling eggs? yeap they burn .... and it was lucky that I came back in the house when I did . NO homemade potato salad for supper tonight, but the house didn't burn down.
Know what happens when you pour cold water over burned hard boiled eggs? They blow up. Kinda funny when you think about it .

The cold crops have produced more then we needed, but are pretty much done. Cauliflower and broccolili have all been pulled and put in the compost pile. The area will be getting fresh composted horse and chicken poooo for the second fall growing time.
I ended up with 22 quarts of broccoli in the freezer and 22 quarts of cauliflower in the freezer. Enough Kohlrabi to keep the hubby happy for a month. The cabbage are doing fabulouss. We will have more then enough to have several serving a week this fall.

Peas are now loaded with pods and almost ready to be picked. Caught the hubby stealing some yesterday off the plants and eating them raw.
Beets are growing beautifully will be more then enough for the freezer. Sweet corn is growing but it was so spotting with germinating have to see how much we get.

Tomatoes are loaded with teeny tiny tomatoes I will have way more then I need to make sauces, salsa, and paste with and we able to eat. Peppers are doing well except for a granddaughter picking the pretty flowers(ouch) Potatoes will also be ready soon.

This is the start to the organic diet for I and the hubby to help with our health.

I read several blog every week. I enjoy the pictures of the dogs and to see what everyone did over the weekend at a show. Does that make me one?

Never ever thought of this as a problem., but according to several website it can be .

I guess I do have a blog and website stalker.
I have 2 ISP Addresses that :

Hundred and hundred of hits a week.
Searches on top of searches 100 to 200 a day, most days of the week.
CACHES on every web page and blog post for months on end.

If I happen to change anything on a web page it is even worse. If I blog it 's the same thing,
SEARCHING and CACHE over and over and over and over again.
This has been happening for not just months but more then couple years now.

My butt has been dragging for a month. Just seem always tired and no energy. knew the knee could not be causing these symptoms. Well after the weekend in IA, I slept for 2 days (20 hours a day) Then felt better and did the carpets in the house (they are all clean). Then right back to the sleeping again, so I broke down and went to the doctor.
I have a raging bladder and kidney infection. So the weekend has been mostly spent sleeping and taking it easy.
Was going to to a UKC show this weekend but that didn't happen.

Saturday:
Mr Hoover, in his second ever show, picked up a 3 point major by going WD under judge Summerfelt.

Today he was a little monster. Was hoping that he would do the same as Flip did last yr in Fargo ND

Rumor showed well but just wasn't her weekend.

Garden broccoli is producing like crazy. I have been putting broccoli in the freezer for 2 days. Funny to watch the dog wait for "maybe a piece to drop" and then race to see who gets it first.
Rain Rain Rain and more rain, cool temperatures. the garden is beautifully green but not growing like I would like. Tomatoes have lots of greenery but no blossom yet. peas are starting to blossom now.
I'm very unhappy with the seed I bought this year, about 12 of them sprouted so have very spotty rows. The green beans, beets and carrots were the worst. NK sweet corn is finally starting to grow but the other company sweet corn- 3 rows we got -13 plants that sprouted.

The daughter and hubby are not having a garden this year because of the rain . Grandkids went worm hunting yesterday in the mud that was suppose to be Ryans garden and had a riot.

They will get a $1 a dozen for them too.
